No Pub Club This Week

Reminder:

There is no Pub Club this week. We are taking a break from Pub Club for the summer so the group will not meet in either July or August. We'll pick things back up in September.

And don't forget about the Legend's Game next Friday. Let Kyle know if you want to go!

Pepsi Party Deck at the Legends Game

Hey gang, just in case you haven't heard, the Young Adults (along with other members of the congregation) have the opportunity to go see the Lexington Legends Play on Friday July 16th on the Pepsi Party Deck. Game time is at 7:05. Cost will be $20.00 which includes your ticket and a buffet. If you want to join us, let Kyle by July 4th so we can reserve your ticket.

Workday Getaway Lunch

Hey Gang! Sorry for the long absence--but I was in the process of switching jobs and buying a new car (and selling the old one). I can't make just one major life change, I have to make several all at once. Anyway, I'm back, and just in time for the next Workday Getaway Lunch!

This month lunch is at Doodle's Which is located at 262 N. Limestone St in Lexington. I've never been there, but Kyle assures me that their Shrimp and Grits are great! We'll meet there at 11:30 and be finished up before 12:30 so that everyone can get back to the office on time. See you there!

Pub Club - Tomorrow - Wednesday - June 2 - 6:30

John Wesley used four different sources in coming to theological conclusions. These four sources known as the “Wesleyan Quadrilateral” are Scripture, Tradition, Reason, and Experience. On Wednesday Night at Pub Club we are going to look at these four sources and see which ones you tend to use in coming to your own theological conclusions.

Maxwell Street Mentors Mixer

Our church is blessed with many talented and accomplished people from all walks of life – teachers, doctors, lawyers, social workers – who can draw on their experience to help young people build their own careers and serve our community. This morning I’m pleased to announce Maxwell Street Presbyterian Church’s Professional Mentoring Program, which will bring young people together with experienced professionals in their areas of interest.

How does it work? If you’re a professional who would like to mentor young people in your career area, come to the punch room after the service and sign up to be a professional mentor. We’ll post your name, contact information, and area of expertise on Maxwell Street’s website and help you get in touch with young people who can benefit from your experience.

If you’re a student or young professional interested in finding a mentor, come to our kickoff event on Tuesday, April 27 at 6:00 PM. We’ll have a 30 minute "mixer" where students and young professional can meet our mentors, followed by a 45 minute program with Carol Bradford and her colleague Esther Moberly, who will talk to us about being “Green in the Workplace.”

Workday Getaway Lunch--April

Join us this Thursday at Jalapeno's Mexican Restaurant for this month's Workday Getaway Lunch. We'll meet at 11:30 and be done by 12:30 so that everyone can get back to work.

Jalapeno's is located at 1030 S. Broadway (the shopping center where Winn Dixie used to be). Let me know if you are planning to come so that I have a general idea of how big a table we need. Hope to see you all there!
